This is the kind of home you doom-scroll past during a slow afternoon—imagining how life would’ve looked if you bought Bitcoin in 2011 instead of another Call of Duty disc.

Located along a tree-lined stretch of Foxhall Road, this $3M Tudor Revival is what happens when timeless architecture meets bold, modern design. We didn’t show up that day expecting to shoot a listing tour. We were originally hired to film a 2-day coaching retreat hosted by Trish Yan and designed by Ari Kushimoto—a project full of authenticity, reflection, and intention.

But when the listing agent saw the quality of our b-roll and asked if we could turn it into a full house tour, we made it happen. Fast.

What Stood Out:

Architectural Design: Reimagined by 3G Architects, this home blends 1930s charm with sharp, modern updates.

Natural Light: Triple-paned floor-to-ceiling windows flood the kitchen and family room with sunlight.

Interior Flow: An 18-foot foyer, custom millwork, and open layout make the space feel expansive yet intentional.

Ambiance: From the formal reception room to the indoor-outdoor transitions, every room feels like a scene in a film.

With just a bit of intentional planning, our team took the ambient shots we were already capturing and crafted them into a clean, elegant property tour video. It’s a reminder of how staying flexible on set—and keeping the camera rolling—can unlock unexpected opportunities.

How We Shot It:

We weren’t planning on filming a full property tour that weekend—but we always come prepared. Once the agent gave us the green light, we shifted gears and got to work. Here’s a quick breakdown of the setup:

Camera: Canon EOS R5

Lens: Canon RF 16-35mm f/2.8L IS USM – perfect for wide interior shots without distortion

Stabilizer: DJI Ronin RS4 – for smooth walkthroughs, fluid pans, and dynamic movement

Approach: We leveraged natural light where possible, prioritizing motion and layout over static room-by-room shots. The goal was to feel the home, not just see it.

Workflow: Since we were already filming b-roll for the Dare to Try retreat, we tapped into that existing footage and added in intentional pickups to match the tone of a luxury listing video.

There was no script, no lighting crew, no dedicated tour day. Just a solid setup, a creative mindset, and a good read on the space.
